Pic0o
I got to pick-up Culdcept Saga last night after 4th Location check. Gamestop only said they got 4 for the entire week. :o I found the JP Homepage with some Marketplace info It's a sweet game with 4 Player Co-Op or Battle from what I have peeked. Single player gives you Body Equip to tweak your Cepter, and get new cards, win or lose on the Card Get. ;) I'm only on 2nd part of Story Mode, but I'm getting enough cards to have an idea what I'd want on board. :) Fun note, I do believe the Voice Actress for Faustina is Black Rose from the .hack Anime / Games. I'm cracking my Manual to read the 56 Pages. :o I played past Turn 70 last night and I was quite a few hours in on one of my Coliseum 3 Runs. Greatness. If you want to see the game in action, I encoded a 1.5 Hour run of Level 5 in XviD. Culdcept Saga - Level 05 @ 1.5 Hrs / 350MB Please Save Target As, since I doubt streaming such a large file is a good idea. Pardon some of the movement delays, I recorded it via S-Video and watched by record screen. Have fun enduring my music. Edited April 2, 2008 by Pic0o Added Link, Praise of Game Below. Link to comment
Pic0o
I played probably 12hrs+ over the weekend and after quite a few plays and losses, I'm on level 04, trying to wrap up the 3rd part of the Coliseum. You do get items if you win or loose the match, and you can also replay levels for more gear. I replayed level 1, and I got another piece of Cepter Body, along with 9 new cards. If I had to describe this game, it's Magic the Gathering, meets Monopoly Boards. The play rounds luck and card combos quite well, as you can get Creature, Item or Enchant cards from your deck of 50, that is customizable with options to save multiple decks. Of gameplay note, having more territories of the same color increases your Chains. These are valuable in increasing your G in effort to win the battle, and giving your Monsters extra perks / increased tolls for anyone who lands on your spot. I can't wait to keep playing and unlocking some more sweet cards and equipment. The Multiplayer could be just as addicting, as I saw mention of Turn limited games, and the ability to get Cards and Items from Online Play too. Speaking of play, this game is the jam when you are tired, as the controller vibrates when it's your Turn. It will be Developer Play night this weekend, I'll be on that. :captain: I almost forgot to mention this game Does save Replays. Ive saved a couple and they are 132-136k thus far on my Hard Drive when written. This is more then I could have been prepared for, in terms of card based addiction. $40.00 is friggin steal for this game, I mentioned this to J0k3r and got him interested, as I suspect quite a few others will enjoy it. Grab the Demo from Live for the 1st level. It has enough play in it to give you a feel of the game, before you drop $40.00 for it, and possibly pay Live for a year, if you opt to get online (if not already). I'll be on this one pretty hard, especially with my rig playing Vids TV-Out. ;) Edited February 11, 2008 by Pic0o Link to comment
Xerxes
You are temping me to pick it up..how long is one of the games roughly? Im not big on card games, but did enjoy the stradegy side for the demo, but the level seemed to last forever. Link to comment
Pic0o
There is no time limit for matches in Single player, but you can define the hell out of online play. You can also do single player Versus with bots for some gear I do believe. Playing single player is a guaranteed time sink, but the other modes can be tweaked for mortal matches, when you are done before the 1st hour or 30 minutes hits. I woke up this morning trying to roll the dice for my turn. :roflmayo: Bless Addicting games. Link to comment
Pic0o
We played a few rounds last night, and rocked some achievements along the way. Winning seems to get you 9 Cards, while loosing seems to give 4-5, some new for both outcomes. Turns can be set from 10 to 95 Rolls. The 10 Roll games probably last 10-15 minutes, so you certainly have the option to play long or short games. I also saw that you can search for games that meet your criteria, or make a custom game to get people in. Last night, I just setup private matches so we could not worry about getting pr0 slapped by a stranger, while we worked on getting some cards. Once I install my Capture Card drivers on my nix rig, I'll do a small match encode, to give visual to the addicting ass card game. As Xer said last night, the in-game music is pretty generic. It's fine for the long games against PC where you are hardly awake, but if you want some variety in music, stream some Mp3's or something. ;) Link to comment
Xerxes
The amount of victory cards depends on the map I have learned :P some maps are 9 others are twelve, maybe more when I get farther in....I almost won then I turned the wrong way..I was literally one space away from victory. Pic0o
Kickass on more cards based on Map. I found the Dev Play info and how to meet up w/ 'em tomorrow night. If you're an Xbox LIVE Gold member, and you want to challenge the publishers at their own game, be on the lookout for these Xbox LIVE Gamertags while playing online from 9 P.M. to midnight ET on Friday, February 15: * CSDevAaron * CSDevNobu * CSDevNick * CSDevY * CSDevLeticia * CSDevStephen Game Type: Blind Match. All players draw cards from a communal book, no one knows what cards they will get before the game starts Connecting: When searching for games, look for "Standard Blind Match" for 3-4 players. If you get a chance to play with anyone from Namco, we want to hear about it! Send us an e-mail at xlmail@microsoft.com with the subject: "GWD – Namco." Be sure to include your Gamertag and home town. I'll be that. I'm gonna have some Drinks w/ my buddy before I leave for home tomorrow. ;) Link to comment

Pic0o
I hear that, Culdcept has to be one of the worst games to submit guests to watch. I stomped the hell out of Coliseum III last night. I found that playing a few Defensive creatures and only leveling them up, lead me to be 8500GP to the 2nd person's 4400 or so. It's on for tonight, I'm gonna have some drinks w/ my buddy before I head home from the office. Link to comment
