Pic0o
I was out last night picking up my Allergy meds and those Ps2 Component Cables and also scored a Plantronics Xbox 360 Live x10 Headset. I gave this a break in thanks to J0k3r last night, and while hearing him was a little bit louder, he said my clarity via his Stock 360 headset was much higher. I figure if both people have the Plantronics headset, voice quality will be crystal clear, and much louder, to the point you don't need to max the earpiece volume. Speaking of the Earpiece, it has a wider diameter, but slimmer profile then the Stock 360 headset. the Microphone picks my voice up clearly, without the need for me to push the Mic up onto my face, as the case with the stock 360 headset. The headset is also quite comfortable and feels lighter then the stock 360 headset. Of a different headset note, I also used a Plantronics Cell Phone Microphone, as they are the same connection type. The playback quality was quite loud, but the 360 Volume controls via Dashboard did not work with the Cell Phone model headset. Hearing the increased volume and mic quality of this cell phone headset prompted me to purchase the 360 Plantronics Headset. The Plantronics does have an In-Line Mic mute and Speaker volume control, with a little longer cord then the stock 360 headset. Considering this enhanced headset costs as much as the stock 360 headset and comes with a 1 year warrantee, I'd say this is an instant buy if you need a replacement set, or are just tired of barely hearing your friends. Well worth the $20 bones, for the increased audible levels, better feel and especially the better grade microphone. I will scan the back of the headset when I get home tonight and attach it to this post. Edited May 20, 2008 by Pic0o Back Sheet attached Link to comment
JeT
EB doesn't seem to carry it anymore-- but now amazon.com has the thing for $9.99 - http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Over-Ear-Headset/dp/B000F1WDHW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1265464849&sr=1-2 I'm thinking I might grab that, or there is a more comfortable looking dealer at $24.99.
