Pandora Streaming

Kat and I were @ the phone shop to get a replacement for her wonky phone, and dood working mentioned that Pandora is available for smart phones, namely every Blackberry excluding the Storm.

 

I gave it a download after making sure my BB Browser options were set to Blackberry rendering, as the app will not install with Mozilla emulation. Anywho, after install and signup (free) I was good to go. I've had mixed results with stable streaming, but today has only had a few second pauses, versus last week, when I'd get silence for 10 minutes or more.

 

When you do keep a signal, it's mighty nice for picking an artist and getting a varied playlist, with like artists. I have an All playlist and They Might Be Giants and each gives some nice playlists. If you have a snazzy phone, give it an install and add some diversity to your mobile playlists. :yar:

 

FYI, like most streaming sites, they have a US only thing going on, so re-routing will prolly be nessicary outside the states.

I use the iPhone pandora app constantly. It runs perfect for the phone and I never have any issues with streaming. And it saves my account channels I've crafted over the years. Good stuff.

I have recently had much better uptime with this, as I only tend to get a few seconds of cutout every 20 minutes or so. I have a few channels of awesome @ my arsenal so far. ;) I also like the Yay or Nay flags per song, as while most suggested tracks are good, sometimes a real turd can sneak in the mix.

Man, the Channel spawned for 'Sisters of Mercy' is actually quite impressive. I've got some Ministry, Misfits, The Cure and some New Order. These jams are Powering me through some new machine updates. ;)
