Good Mornin'. Since I know Kat is kinda slothy in regard to posting info on her new dork toys, I'm going to start it off, as I ran a FFXI Benchmark #3 on her Lappy this morning and it score in the 3660 range (Nice and Playable). She's been wanting a Lappy for some time now, so she is joining me in B-day Celebration. I am prepared to celebrate myself, as I'm going to trade one of our CoD:WaW Copies in for Prototype when it gets in. :bunny:

Anyways, onto the Toy - Info @ BB Site.

She seems to be a fan so far, and we actually got the in-store item for about $550 before taxes. Oddly enough, they still sell gateway? :o The Asus was the Performance to Clean Design to Price champion of that showroom floor, hands down.

As for cons, I just point to the insane amount of useless crap that comes pre-installed. FFS, she has a SQL Express install on the thing. Who knows why a Home User laptop needs SQL Server on it. Uninstalling that and not having it load on startup should be helpful. Also, the Trend Micro app on there is like another UAC - that was also disabled rapidly.

I got all the tech crap out of the way, so she can just bask in the awesome parts now. :)

Posting from it right now. I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but so far I'm a fan. I have been getting rid of all the extra pre installed crap on here that I will never need or want to use. I'll update when I've had more face time with it.
