Had a few drinks over the day, while I am going to finish a few more then start my water regime. :kat: and I went out for dinner and are way more full than we should be. I should make it to midnight, as I have World 7 and 8 to finish on Super Mario 3D Land. :smurfy:

Oh yeah, continuing my Vincent Price movie session from earlier today. {it and the Pendulum is the current flavor.

Have a sweet New Year! New job and some more regular dog walks are on my resolution radar. I prepare to go chill in the basement for the 2012 Drop (EST). :D

Hubby went to a bar near the pier. I stayed in the room with James in hopes of an early bedtime only to still be awake with the little munchkin. *shakes fist* He's busted his chops a few times today but he refuses to stop trying to stand all the time, apparently that's his new favorite thing to do.

Got a place to rent, it's actually a buddy's house so that's going to be awesome. I complained on FB last night about needing a place and he hit me up and told me he had bought a house out here and then decided to move in with his gf, lol. Excited about that fo sho. We'll be able to move in as soon as we can get the moving company to deliver our stuff. :D

All in all, good start to the new year. James shat all over himself right after his bath though, that was fun. XP

Good ring in so far. Going back to my food schedule today as my tummy says yesterday was ridiculous and now you shall pay!

I didn't even make it to the ball drop. Passed out by 11:30. Lol

Today is hopefully an early retreat from work to go home and play some games :)

I can relate to tummy rage, as leftover seafood will wreck your innards. :afro: The yummy mitigates the digestion rage though.

Watching 'The Dark Half' now, since I did my man chores. Lax night for I return to the office tomorrow. BTW, grats on the FB to living arrangement! I didn't even watch the ball drop. Movies and Games won that battle. :viking:

I didn't watch it either. Was trying to poop the monkey out so we could go to sleep as I had hoped to be in bed well before then. XP (UGH! I know what I meant when I wrote this but reading over it again I see that "trying to poop the monkey out" can provide some awkward mental images, ha ha!)

Couldn't sleep tonight either so the monkey and I are chillin out. I am pretty sure he's trying to read a book to himself as he is cooing almost nonstop while looking at it, (upside down of course) in classic child fashion. Lol.

Decided it was time to look into animating my crazy brain ventures. With the dreams as of late and some of the tripped out hooha's I've got some good material. First up is to look into tablets, but I need to find programs to use with the tablet as well. I'd like to be able to make cute flash videos kind of like you see at homestarrunner or that cute Kenya video. Means I will also need some kind of sound program to make with the music and different voice options.

Oh, now the monkey is playing with an empty water jug. Whatever works!

Poop the monkey out certainly was a 1st read of 'Oh man, deuce issues' then I recapped you meant tired out the young one. :roflmayo:

Tablet wise, you can really use anything. The tablet works like a pen driven mouse, more a less. Installing drivers is still key though, as in Photoshop and the like, it should pick up your pressure input so you can have varying line thickness. This is way more Kat turf than mine though. :)

I have some story projects in my head too that I'd like to get in some format. I was thinking game originally, but I feel that would long-term kill the project, if I didn't start it in an easier story based means first. Doing the job hunting and burshing up on my skills, it slaying my desire to do more work once I get home.

Finally, your avatar! :lolabove: Trio of Awesome! I feel I should get a full body one to join the party more appropriately. icon_mrgreen.gif

I highly recommend wacom tablets, I have one myself. I have the intuos 3, I've heard the intuos 4 has a problem where the nibs wear out. I bought mine ages ago though, they do some other models now, like the "bamboo". I think that's fairly cheap, and it's pretty good. Photoshop is good, and for just painting/drawing, corel painter is actually really quite good--they are all you need for 2d still pictures. As for sound, I cannot help you there. I tried some programs in the past, but they were rather complex and I gave up on them.

For flash videos, try adobe flash I guess. Be prepared to view a few tutorials though!

If you're into 3d stuff, zbrush is amazing.

Thanks you two! I will probably get a topic up in the appropriate forum and yell at Kat until she responds too, lol. I'll respond to some of your tips in there too before this place gets all crazy distracted.

Yes Pic0o, matching av is a go, quit slacking! =p My laptop doesnt have anything besides paint so I used pixlr.com to get rid of the background and make it transparent. Gotta love that, only recently discovered it.

Also I would totally agree with the other forms of story outlet for now. Game development could come after and it'd be easier to get the idea across if it was already in another form. WOOOOOO!!! Definitely understand not wanting to work on that while in job hunting mode again. That shit is a BIIIIIIIIITCH, I hope it is as fast and painless as possible.

Cool. We also support Wacom devices. I have her old one on my desk, as she got a Intuos 4 not too long ago (She's wanted one for yeaaaaaarrrrrs).

As for editing on the laptop via cheap, you could give GIMP a run. I tend to use it all the time these days.
