Pic0o
Looks like a new expansion is gonna hit next year. Seekers of Adoulin is noted to be bringing 2 new Job Classes too. So it looks like XI plans to keep the torch going that XIV pretty much blew right out of orbit, as a potential successor. Link to comment
Pic0o
Release time is near. (2013/03/26) I don't see jumping on to new job anytime soon, but anyone else should Check this Vana'diel Return Guide. Yay BGWiki link! Here is the Real Trailer for English here. Link to comment
Pic0o
I bit the bullet and resubbed the other night. I would check the Release notes because they changed a few dynamics. Funny patch note for me: [Windows Version] The special effect for "hot" weather may now be toggled via the Weather Effects section of Misc. in the Config menu. I get the feeling this is in direct response to the graphic bug I see with Nvidia cards and Sun elemental weather effects. Merited Weapon Skill bonuses are better distributed bonuses between level 1 and 4, but level 5's cap remains the same. Point cost to increase per point has gone up however. Glad I capped to level 5 WS last fall. Patch is live and downloading 1492 updated files. I updated on Sat @ my friend's place, so that is the expansion content files count. For grins, Ragnarok is still a 2500+ concurrent user server, per this weekend's check. :) Link to comment
Pic0o
Looking to get some teeth into this expansion as I haven't played much short of a couple nights grinding my WS Trial Magian upgrades. Speaking of weapons, the Delve weapons are tripping people out. Oatixur is 26.61 DPS / +146 base damage. Holy shit. They have some beast stats and people who upgraded Relic, Mythic, Empyrean, and Coin Weapons and I would be upset too, but I never leveled any of those. Been using Barracudas (Magian Trial 1939) on my Monk, as I decided those (RMEC) weapons were pretty out of my reach awhile ago aka Level 75 days. I am still pretty much just playing for the sake of it. Avoided an end game shell my last few loads, because I already put much time into set LS events and know how much time that can slay. I'd consider it with some IRL friends, but /random is far too likely to become a chore. Expansion Quests http://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Researchers_from_the_West http://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Middle_Lands_Investigation Monk armor set for sassy folks. I'm thinking I'll consider upgrading my AF3 / Abyssea armor. Edited May 9, 2013 by Pic0o Link to comment
Pic0o
Doing Expansion stuff and it's pretty funny to see many old inactive spots now being trigger or teleport points. Seeing how late I get into the evening before booky read naps. New Weapon via Auction House crafted. Akua Sainti Link to comment

Pic0o
I wanted to give the expansion a chance. I'm not too sure if I'll stick with it for long though. Especially since Final XIV: ARR is rumored to be somewhere in the June / July release time frame. Playing Final XI, I remembered pretty quick some of the cons. A good bit of walking, some overly vague questing dialog. I like to try and complete some of the older Mission content, but I get into the normal feeling of being so far behind the content curve, and the combo of walking to Wiki-required questing, is a bit much for me. Not to sound too noobish, but I really enjoy when I can play a game for 1-4 hours and still get some significant objectives done. XI Missions are that time commitment on a minimum scale. Like you said too, it's been too nice (last few days withstanding) to say inside and play games most of the hours. Link to comment
