Pic0o
Sup on that Friday? With the weekend being a few days away, I have some time to pick something to play this weekend. Last weekend was some Bioshock 2 action. I'd say I put about 30 Hours into the main game, and 5 more into Minerva's Den DLC. For a little backstory, this is a prequel to Bioshock 1. I started my playthru in Feb, but stopped right around my 1st Big Daddy fight. Coming back into the game, I felt the combat was a little much on medium, so I dropped it down to easy. This made combat far less tedious and actually pretty enjoyable. I continued forward collecting weapon upgrades, plasmids and the like, as I rolled through what felt like somewhere in the area of 6 or 7 levels. I was enjoying my narrative and journal entries collected, but I didn't really get a huge immersion vibe like I did with the first game. In Bioshock 2 it seems like the real 'story' is collecting the sisters and defending against the baddies, with some side-story given by journals you find. I fought a couple regular type humans but they seemed to blend right in with the normal splicers, short of a larger health bar. Another thing of note is the little sisters. They are kind of creepy when you start playing, mostly due to the dialog they'll drop about being rescued and what not. You'll get used to them around the 3rd or so you encounter, but still at first I was not much a fan. There is also multi-player but I didn't fire it up at all. Shooter MP isn't really my bad anymore, especially when it's a tacked on mechanism for a single player game. That's really all I can think of relating to the main game. I did also run through Minerva's Den content and enjoyed that over maybe 5 or so hours. I liked the flow and progression of the content, especially how weapon upgrades are handled, versus going to the upgrade stations. Since this game can be had on the cheap, I'd suggest scooping it up if you want to do some little sister collection and explore some cool, yet familiar areas. I did play through it pretty consistently this last week, but I'd still recommend the 1st game over this 2nd title. That being said, I did have a good time with it. Link to comment
