Leaf Removal

Today is a nice day, with some rain possibly creeping in later on. I got done a little bit ago, purging the remaining leaves from the back yard, via my ghetto tool assortment. I will also note that since we don't live in the city, I don't have to do bag leaves, one of the most fucking retarded and annoying processes ever.

 

Like I said, bagging leaves fucking blows and I will not do it. I did it as a kid and was like 'WTF, this is asstarded'. We have a hill in our back yard behind the fence, so I just dumped all the leaves over the fence, then more near the hill. My tools used were:

• 2x Rakes - Go with 28" or so rakes, as we have a sizeable yard and more area covered is rarely an issue. I used 2 in order to make my scoop loader. More leaves per lift = less time wasted.
  
• 1x Wheel barrel - I just used this to move my container (pool) listed below, as the barrel does not hold as much stuff, and is heavier, making the over-the-fence dump less likely or just too annoying to justify. I filled the barrel last year and dumping it was a pain in the ass.
  
• 1x Small Plastic Pool - We have one for the Dogs to swim in, and since it was not filled, it made a great bin for said leaves, that I could lift over then fence and empty pretty easy. I could also put 2-3 more leaves in the pool then dump them over the fence, versus less in the barrel and more trips in and out the gate.
  
• 1x Leaf Blower (Optional) - I went with this option since we have one. It helped for making piles to scoop into the pool for dumping, and also was handy to blow the dump loads away from the fence. It was also handy for getting most leaves off the fence line in the yard too.
  

We had quite a bit of leaves, and using the blower to get most to the gate for removal just seemed stoopid. I also ran outta gas near the end, so it worked out I went with the above method. Now we will have less dead grass and dead leaves littering the yard.

 

Let us (or me anyway) celebrate another thing off my list, and to top it off, the Doggies were outside with me the whole time, so they are nice and lazy now. I got a Rolt mixed up and another up soon. I figure the rest of the weekend will be playing games and watching flicks, so big yay to that shit. :yar:
