BD&A Wii Ultra Sensor Bar

Recommended Posts

This starts my pending list of game hardware to put info up on. We picked up the 'BD&A Wii Ultra Sensor Bar' to use on our Wii, as the default one was giving us a shaky cursor, when playing from our chairs. This ran us $20, so it's a reasonable price, if you find it applicable.

The biggest Pro for this device, is the slide bars along the top, enabling you to have a wider range for the IR sensor to be picked up. This IR bar is powered off 4x AAA Batteries and we use our rechargeable ones to keep it going. I'd guess you get around 12 or so hours per charge out of this sensor bar.

Power wise, when you turn it on, it will default to stay on for 2 hours. You can adjust the timeout for 1 hour as well, but either way, when the time elapses, the LED will blink and you need to hit the power button to keep it online.

With the above power info, keep in mind unless you are pointing the Wiimote at the screen for a cursor, they do not to use the IR sensor. This was the case with No More Heroes.

If you aren't hosting multiple people @ your place, the stock sensor should do you fine. However, if you sit far from the TV and have someone else playing some games with you, you may find salvation in this device, as we have.
