Mini-Expansions

Recommended Posts

Welcome to our tracker thread for the 3 expansion missions. Kat and I are on the following for Moogle, while un-started on the other expansion, so far.

Crystalline:

Moogle:

Shantotto: (gotta start in Windy Walls)

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/That_Which_Curdles_Blood

We got all 3 above expansions by getting the FFXI Ultimate Collection. Was $15 bucks in stores, so a good savings for all those and prior FFXI expansion content.

When I finish the Crystalline expansion, I can get this sweet body piece for my Bard. Royal Redingote

Another Bard head piece - Selenia Cap for completing the Moogle missions.

So-so Mage pants - Tatsumaki Sitagoromo from the Shantotto expansion.

Recent Patch additions:

Dec Patch Notes

Full Patch Notes for Sept. 2010 Update

  • The Sept. Patch added many enhancements to Abyssea. A big note is the NPC Added to Port Jeuno who will Teleport you to Cavernous Maws for Abyssea areas.
  • The other biggie is being able to check your remaining Vistitant status by Healing / Resting in any of the Abyssea zones.
  • Joachim will now tell you the total amount of Traverser stones you have accumulated
  • Various Job changes and new abilities were added in relation to the level cap increases. A Bard change to the Mazurka songs, now allows me to increase movement speed in Dungeons, not just outdoor areas. ;)

The new XP zones are Vision of Abyssea. This is the latest mini-expansion #4, as I was wondering around last night curious why I didn't have the flag. :roflmayo:

Registering this pack and continuing the series from this starter Quest. Level requirement of 30. :bunny: $9.99 for this latest expansion.

All 3 Open. Just need reset on new stone. Quests for 75+ camping active. Gonna Ballista on MNK and get a few more KS. :)

Scars of Abyssea is live now. 3 more areas to XP with the new level cap of 85. Abyssea Areas for the latest expansion look pretty intense. Checking out the Quests to open them up now.

Besides various Job Adjustments with the latest patch, you can now see how many Traverser Stones you have left (still can only hold 3 at a time). There is an Assistant NPC named Horst, who can teleport you to the Maw of your choice, for some Cruor. You can also check your remaining Visitant Status at any time by resting. Full patch notes on PlayOnline site.

Having the quest Dawn of Death active, will let you activate the new Maws. I am on just that quest. Noob tip I learned the other day, is you need to leave Abyssea areas before you are down to 5 min, else you will need to wait 1 hour before reentering.

Abyssea Maws:

To access Vision of Abyssea areas:

Go to Tahrongi Canyon (H-12), Konschtat Highlands (I-12), or La Theine Plateau (E-4) with a Traverser Stone in your temporary key items, and click on the Cavernous Maw for a cutscene.

To access Scars of Abyssea areas:

Go to Valkurm Dunes (I-9), Jugner Forest (J-8), or Buburimu Peninsula (F-7) with a Traverser Stone in your inventory, and click on the Cavernous Maw for a cutscene.

Maps can be bought from the NPC next to Conflux Surveyor (gives visitant status for Stones). Get your maps and various other items from a Cruor Prospector.

Silly me. I didn't have Abyssea - Konschat Highlands active, as I just did that now. ;). Next to the new zones. XP whores, peep the Level 85 Limit Break quest. Since I'm still 75 but did clear the 80 cap quest, I have time to farm some Kindred Crests and Merit Points.

All 3 Scars expansion Maws are active ;) Also to note, there are 3 armor sets you can get by spending your Curor currency (get from killing Abyssea mobs). This is much nicer than the hassle of spending gil and/or crafting gear. You can wear the new gear at level 78, and the Scars expansion added some Job Specific 85 items.

So, the first 3 zones for Visions only give super XP til 80. From there go to the Scars zones. I had some 80+ ppl in our Alliance in the older zones and XP fell out. Playing in Abyssea - Tahrongi and getting INSANE XP. 76 and rockin forward now. ;)

Been playing since 7pm or so. Got over 80k Cruor and went from half way to 76 to 16k on level 81. Got the full Teal Saio Set from vendors. Soon to hit some  ;p

@3:15 AM

Ding 82! Btw, I am in the Visions zones, so scratch the lower XP observation a little. Getting quite a bit less at 81 vs 70's, but still better than the prior night.

@4:10 AM

Left XP Session and had 29k of 47.5K or so for level 83.

Abyssea Wise, I am looking to Quest for the Stone Extension key items, and the Increase holding quantity (3 after initial quests, upgradable to 5) for stones. Item Info below for Abyssite:

Completed Conflux zones:

Abyssea - Tahrongi.

Abyssea - Misareaux

Abyssea - Attohwa

Abyssea - Vunkerl

Abyssea - Konschtat

Abyssea - La Theine

Only remaining:

Heroes Zones

Fame:

Level 3 Fame in Vunkerl

Level 1 Fame in Attohwa. Can do and repeat Crimson Carpet II to get Level 2 Fame, and thus start getting Monk AF Seals.

Resistance Ops are some Credit building little quests to do. 1 per in-game day.

Quest Fights. Key Items needed to pop NMs.

I picked up the Lunar Abyssite from a Vendor. I can get the 2nd from the above Fight Quests in the first 3 zones. With this, you can be infused with Atma and get various buffs. They will remain active for the duration of that visit.

When I finish A Shantotto Ascension, I can get the speed Atma in Abyssea.

Heroes of Abyssea

4 new zones are available:

Level Cap Quest for 90 to 95 Limit Break - Dormant Powers Dislodged. Working on the Fight for 96-99 Unlock: Beyond Infinity.

There is a middle collect-item unlock part before BCNM and that shit is old school SJ unlock mean for drops. Teamed up with some heads in North middle room of Dangruf Wadi and tore out mad drops on the swift 96 Quest Item. You will want the Quest item, else you will may be raped. Win on 2nd Try, gimped him off the bat with item and mass DMG / 2HRs. I used mine on the last wait for item try and died super quick, w RR but still fail run.

Was @ Ranguemont Pass = nil drops. Duoed for a good bit before hitting up Wadi /assist. Some mobs of that zone mobs can con EP too. I got my NPC to 65 on the farming though. :lion:
