In case I have not mentioned it, I have been having a hell of a time investigating how badly Facebook and Twitter censor content. Like the Television News, they are owned by corporations and people in power. I have been mainline checking for the levels and type of censorship on FB since August, but really I started noting the levels somewhere around spring of 2013. 4/20 was really fun and I used that as one of my triggers for arching. Random observation too, you can learn a ton about psychology via social networking sites. People like to start drama and it of course still happens online, just as clicks or crews do in real life, in your schools and later workplaces.Major groups of censorship are pretty varried, but besides much accurate news reporting that gets censored, you have most commonly the following groups restricted: [*]Native Americans [*]Women's Rights [*]HAARP - or other controversal government programs [*]Racial empowerment (not racist) groups / History pages [*]Hacker info [*]Anonymous pages - Anything from Art to General News I just wanted to share because I have various methods of checking back for missing content, because I do think information should be free and uncensored, but in reality... not so much the normal practice. Pic0o Posted October 20, 2014 Author Report Share Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) How about that? My Facebook account has been terminated with zero notice overnight. That is the 2nd one now in the span of a year. Especially since the one I was using, was indeed my only active login. Oh well. I learned very much about that site, it's terrible news feed algorithms and data-mined advertising. It was fun, but I know a good thing when I see it. So making a new account is low to not-at-all on my priorities list. Also speaking to people in person, many users are not using the site anymore. In respect to local friends and family. 13.7 thousand posts cross posted to twitter. Glad I used that feature on Facebook, so they didn't delete all my content... well besides the profile backups I also made. Ahh. 'Real Name' policy seems to be the reason, as I contested the deactivation by email. Sent a photo ID proving I am a person.
