Nintendo USB Adapter and Xbox 360 Media Extenders

Good morning from the beloved Cave. I was playing around with adding the 2nd 360 to our Media Center PC and along the way, I was getting mismatched on the 8-Digit keys, thus denying either console from connecting.

 

Last night I plugged the Nintendo WiFi USB Connector into our Media Center PC to test out the DS Web Portal (mad fast without CSS). I was able to get the DS online, but it seems I dropped the 360's in the process. To fix the 360's, I uninstalled the Nintendo software and rebooted Media Center. I now have both consoles back in business.

 

The version of Nintendo Software I was working with is the latest of 1.06

You can also run the Media Center Extender Manager, instead of re-running the Xbox setup app every time. The Manager is nested in Accessories of your Start Menu.

Add the Nintendo Software conflict to Windows XP as well, as trying to stream music from my XP machine also failed when the Nintendo app was installed. Upon uninstalling the Nintendo app, I was instantly able to stream music to my 360 again.

 

Disconnecting the Nintendo USB WiFi Dongle was not enough, I had to completely remove the software.

 

My fix was to setup the Nintendo Adapter as a Soft Access Point, also enabling me to add any other WiFi device to the LAN, without abusing the Router and leaving it on Permanently.
