We are celebrating our Buffalo Xmas, and we decided to use our proceeds to get a PS3. I also switched our FFXIII pre-order to PS3, so max resolution mode shall be ours.

Hitting up our Netflix queue to get some Blurays sent to the pad. We also got Little Big Planet and God Of War collection to tide us until Final. ;)

I am Pic0oP on PSN. Here is my PSN Card jam.

I got the system HDMI rolling and thanks to having a Bravia, we can use the same remote from our TV to control the PS3. Woot to PS3 taking the living room Xbox 360 spot, so we can have Netflix access in the bedroom too. :)

Be Fair. Final XIII hits March 9th. :P

We are glad to have grabbed the goods early this year, as it's probable that this is the year my Corolla retires. Hopefully not, but it'd be naive to think not. ;)

Eatin my Easy Mac and other foods I got @ the store Sunday night, before I got on the plane today. Budget travel FTW.

J0k3r called me up and was happy to hear I played a little Magic the Gathering on Xbox. I foresee some game benders this weekend, as I am ETA'd to get in pretty late on Fri. L4D2 is due for some completion story  and hunting for infected to play.

I'm likely to PS3 when Kat is working or  and Xboxen while she plays with new toys. :P

Nothin to really do with PS3, but I got me Bad Company 2 for PC (pre-order), and snagged Halo: ODST off ebay for 'boxen.

On a big FPS streak atm. :o

I totally want to rock some MAG, but I won't be getting a PS3 anytime soon.

I am highly considering MAG, but Shooter wise, I have Episode 2 of Half-Life 2 waiting for a GG on my 360.

Going to likely get MAG tonight. :P 2/3 so far, as I 'd on my late night attempt to start Valkyria Chronicles.

Here is a Bluetooth Headset Guide. Curious if my old Cell Phone headset will due fine. Looks like no, thanks to this compatibility list.

I think I have an H505 Motorolla. I ended up getting the Sony Bluetooth headset with the Base Charger. It's very solid, and has a Mute Button on the earpiece. Very Handy while playing MAG.

Waiting for my connection home. Gonna brew some Coffee when I hit the pad and try to hang, as I got some decent  on the 1st flight.

I got some good play on, and one thing I did learn, is the on-screen keyboard sucks for entering text, as Auto-Text will prevent you from typing some stuff. One example, is 'S.V.E.R.'.

I was able to bypass this via a USB Keyboard, and I saw the Controller Keyboard plugin does the same. Sadly, there is no Config option to diable the auto-text, short of using some sort of keyboard. In the PS3 config, you can clear the dictionary. I am able to type the above example now.

Fun fact:

If you hook your PS3 up to a SD source, it's likely to not post video, if you were previously on HDMI config. Similar to the 360, you can reset the console to boot @ lowest 480i resolution and get moving again.

Happily, to reset your resolution, you Hold the Power Button on the PS3 for 5 seconds or so. You will hear a beep and the light will remain green. At this point, you can let go of the power button and should have video on your SD display. Super handy for when you need to hookup via S-video or what have you.

My cousin has a PS3 and we play lots of Nazi Zombies when I go over to his house. We sit out in the shed, roll a couple up, toke on one, and then pop some zombie heads. I, myself, can't wait to get a PS3. I've been debating on selling the Xbox when I get a PS3 but there is alot about the Xbox that I do like.

I remembered that I wanted to give the Blu-ray Calibration tool a run, so I'll give this a run this weekend.

Here's the procedure: Hit the Triangle button when you are at the main menu of a Sony Blu-ray disc. You'll see several disk options along with numbers. Using the Sixaxis controller or bluetooth remote to enter 7-6-6-9 in the popup black box.

This should bring up the config tool. I'll see if Zombieland works to bring it up, as it's a Sony BD item. Confirmed @ time of Edit.

Also, PS3 Media Server works much swifter on a PS3. Raw MPGs played without need to transcode. AVIs are still not desirable to skip ahead on, while being transcoded.

As I was just saying in the Darksiders thread, I have our living room pimped out in a nice surround sound setup. Turns out my old speakers are working well, so no car gear was hurt in the process. I picked up an Optical cable to run from the PS3 to my RCA STAV-3950 Reciever (Rat Shack old school Projector-era gear) and it is ill pimping DTS and Dolby AC-3D capabilities.

Gonna do some store runs tomorrow for some wall mounts for the Surround Speakers. I was able to pickup a Optical cable for under $20 bucks @ the store, so that was good for the wallet.

Good God I fully intend to get a PS3 here eventually. I will probably do that when I switch over to night shift for those random nights off work trying to stay awake. :ninja: I've still been WoW'ing and Aion'ing it up, lol. But as many games as I have for my Xbox it is rarely used for more than a DVD player and I fear the PS3 would end up with the same fate. X_X We'll see though, I definitely want Little Big Planet and the God of War games. :pirate:

The only snafu you want to check on when playing both consoles, is what multi-platform games run the best on either system. Most of the time, the difference is minor, but for some games, you get a moderate gimping with one platform over the other. Commonly also referred to the Lead Console by the programming game folks, lets you know what is likely to run nicer.

Besides the technical reasons, you have the DLC bullshit to worry about. Fallout 3 was a big example of this, and I heard the game itself was a bit more buggy on PS3, but I never played it on the Triple. Happily, it looks like the console exclusive DLC is fading away, as the Resident Evil 5 stuff is going up the same week on both consoles. :)

Not to be a fanboy, but from what I have seen checking around so far, FFXIII will be noticeably cleaner looking on PS3. :ahoy:
