Pic0o
I was talking to Kat about my desire for a 1080p Complaint LCD, and how I would give my current monitor up to her for such capabilities. This Champ is a NEC ASLCD24WMCX-BK Black 24 LCD. It is currently 439.99, and hopefully drops a few more bucks before order time. I did some searching, and with my infinite drool for NEC Monitors, I found a Winner. Good thing we have a couple months until my day of awesome. I'll tack on a 6ft HDMI Cable to use that Fancy port on the 360. I'll start counting pennies so we can score me one around my Birfday. :bday: I am really a huge fan that the LCD takes Component and HDMI direct. ;) Updated OP as I got this home and hooked up last night. Holy mother of Awesome. Edited April 17, 2008 by Pic0o Got Display @ Home Link to comment
Pic0o
Thanks to my Wifey, I just placed an order with a 6' HDMI Cable. I should certainly receive this before GTA 4 drops. :cuddles: Yay to Widescreen pretty Res Homicide. :ninjawub: GTA 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2 are just about all the games I'll be picking up until end June. I gotta work that Backlog once that LCD comes in. :yar: Link to comment

SafeFire
Noice, hdmi friendly monitors are win, even more so when they've got a good size to boot. Be sure to grab one of these as well, for max dual monitor spiffyness. I might get one myself for my 19" widescreens, but it costs close to 200$ to ship it across the pond Oh, and HAI by the way, I signed up way back, and posted twice or something. I'll drop a post from time to time, no worries  Link to comment
Pic0o
Oooh that one is nice, as I don't have anything suitable to mount by wall to, but that desk mount is pretty handy. I'm staying @ single display though, as my 19" is heading to Kat, so her PS army may grow stronger. :P Link to comment
SafeFire
Roger. I strongly recommend dual monitor setups when working in photoshop. I work a lot in 3d max these days, and it's max leetness to have that on one monitor and ps on the other. Even more so because max can read psd files, and sort in layers. Cross program real time update for the win. Kat, be sure to drop me a message when you get the second monitor hooked up (I'm assuming you're not tossing out your current monitor). Back when I got my second monitor, I spent next to an eon looking for software that would make using two screens a little less annoying, and came across some must have's. Sorry to trail the topic off topic by the way, good game on the 24", drop some pictures of the beast when it comes in, preferably while rocking xbox in 1080P on it :P Link to comment
Kat
Oooh yes, that is exactly what I am looking for, thanks for the help. I will be sure to drop you a line when things go down. :) Link to comment
Pic0o
I hooked up Kat's Dual Display last night, and I just hooked up my new LCD. This thing is damn Big, I giggled like a school girl when I unpacked it and hooked it up. DVI PC viewing is Crystal Clear, and the stock settings look excellent. 360 to be hooked up in a minute, I have to do some desk shuffle action. I suspect some dirty looks from Kat when she gets home. :bunny: Quick measurements show 20.5 Visible Width via clothing ruler. Link to comment
Kat
That pic does it no justice whatsoever. Lucky for him I am happy with the dual display for now. *chuckles* Going to Wolf Park in Indiana in June is keeping me sedate from spending for now :P Link to comment
tOucan
Looks the goods :) I think you may need to dust a bit  Link to comment
Pic0o
You have no idea on the dusting. After a week in the basement, it looks like an archaeological dig. That pic is damn clean for dust on my corner of the basement. :P I got my manual w/ me today to see what else this thing can do while do i the work thing. I may even try to scribe a review type thing at some point, but until then, holy damn awesome LCD. Sweetest mad early b-day gift in some time. I just went through the manual and it pretty much goes into detail on the OSD options, then after page 26, it starts the next language. I currently have the 360 running HDMI, and for my audio that comes over, I have my Logitech Speakers plugged into my monitor to get the purdy 5.1 up in my side of the cave. :) Speaking of Audio, this display also has onboard speakers. As one would expect, they do the job, but are nothing to write home about if you have good external speakers to hook up. The manual lists the on board speakers at 2+2 Watts, and running external speakers from the headphone jack does sound nice and sound to be exporting 5.1, I'll keep validating that in case it's in emulation 5.1. I played videos on the 360 and PC via my Nix Boot and both looked great. I was happy to see the only time I saw borders on the screen, was in media center playing a video encoded in 4:3 resolution. I was playing games @ 720p, as that seems to be the normal native resolution, and I thought 1080p looked less native for a couple games I tested with. Colors in game and in video look excellent, also the fonts in Ubuntu on my PC look superb in 1920x1200, while they looked a little uncrisp @ the previous resolutions of 1024x768 and 1280x1024 (especially in Firefox) on my previous LCD. With that said on the fonts, I could have probably just changed the system font to something better suited for previous resolutions, but no need anymore. :P The Buttons for the LCD are big and on the front of the Monitor. I really do enjoy the big buttons and single button for changing input, as that was my closest thing to a gripe on the Hyundai L90D+. FYI, I did not see a good dump of supported resolutions when I was hunting, so here is what I got from the Manual. 720 x 400 @ 70 Hz 640 x 480 @ 60-75 Hz 800 x 600 @ 56-75 Hz 832 x 624 @ 75 Hz 1024 x 768 @ 60-75 Hz 1152 x 864 @ 75 Hz 1152 x 870 @ 75 Hz 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz 1280 x 768 @ 60-75 Hz 1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz 1280 x 1024 @ 60-75 Hz 1360 x 768 @ 60 Hz 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz 1600 x 1200 @ 60 Hz 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz - Recommended and running PC @ this Resolution.
