Floor Tile Job

Recommended Posts

~ 2 Days, maybe 18 hours total on the install w/ Doug's main help and experience.

The floor was not, and still isn't level for shit, but we got the tile flat enough that it's hardly noticeable. :)

Floors are a Bitch and a Half. Our Kitchen is due next, but that will just be Vinyl, thus being a comparable breeze.

Bump the Dead!

I put a single coat of paint on the door frames on Kat's side of the room, and I should finish up w/ a 2nd coat before it's too cold to vent the house of fumes.

I'll try to do this up this week, and throw some updated pics on it, as my Ma Dukes was like 'Oh yeah, prove it. Pix Plz' (translated) :P

Much has changed downstairs, as Kat's PC is upstairs, and we removed the sink pictured. Attached are pics of where the sink was, and the 3 tiles I needed to remove, in prep for tiling that area, so it matches the rest of the room.

Removing Tile sucks. Cracking the bond under the tile takes some time, and throws pieces all over the damn place. Be sure to wear eyewear. :P Also, I hit my hand w/ the hammer more time then I can count and I now have some nice tender spots. :stab:

I have to get the right size cover for the Drain pipe, as Suds come out there during wash, and I got the wrong size. crdy.gif After cap is on, I'm mixing some Jolt and Rum to lead me into some Star Ocean. :yar:

Sunday:

I got the corner pieces cut and laid the tile. Letting the cement dry, then I will put the grout down and GG tile. :ahoy:

Hehe, once you mack school, you can pay ours off. :P

House Projects do make a good excuse to drink! You feel manly and achieved, so it's easy to justify those Jolt and Rum drinks ;)

I got the grout down yesterday. I'll let it sit another day or two before I put the ceramic protective on the new tile, and floor will be done done.

As you can see, and will more when I take another pic, the upper left tile has a bigger gap to the wall, as I mis-measured and/or dood cut it on the wrong side of my marker. Shit happens :P Once the wall is patched up, it should be barely identifiable.
